Bella Thorne may have a hit TV show on the Disney Channel, but she wants fans to know that she’s nothing like her predecessors Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff. The Shake It Up starlet recently stopped Celebuzz to answer fan questions and, when a fellow “Bellarina” wanted to know how she felt about filling in Miley’s shoes, Bella laid it all on the line.
“Everyone compares me to Miley but I don’t really know why,” she said. “I’m 14-year-old girl trying to do my own thing and live my dream. I don’t think I can even compare to anyone like that.”
“They’re such visions that it’s even hard to picture yourself being compared to that,” the actress added.
Bella, Miley, and Hilary do have one thing in common — all three girls have found success in television. Bella’s show, Shake It Up, has been going strong ever since its 2010 debut. So is there a third season in the works?
“Of course! Why wouldn’t there be?” Bella told us. “We love Shake It Up and to think that we’re even going into the third season is mesmerizing.”
A new Disney Channel movie called “Frenemies” debuted Friday night, casting real-life fashion fans and best buds Bella Thorne and Zendaya Coleman as style watchers who want to turn their blog Geekly Chic into a magazine.
Of course, their friendship is put to the test when they have to compete for the editor job. In the end, though, they go together like a pair of great shoes, doing their best work as a team.
Both girls star in the Disney Channel TV series “Shake It Up,” where they play outfit-obsessed best friends who get a gig as background dancers on a local TV dance show.
Thorne is 14. Coleman is 15 and she prefers to go by the one-word Zendaya, like Madonna or Beyoncé.
Zendaya doesn’t really go anywhere without heels on, and one of Thorne’s favorite outfits ever was a Betsey Johnson party dress with combat boots and funky socks.
Zendaya says she’s learned a lot about shoes from her friend. Thorne is much more into music and dance thanks to Zendaya.
In an hourlong fashion field trip to an H&M store in Manhattan, the girls dreamed up new fashion-forward combos, described their signature looks, and listed must-have items for their purses (phones and headphones for both, but Zendaya also needs her lip gloss).
The girls say they wish they could swap clothes more often, but, alas, while they are cut from the same cloth, they are not the same size. Here are some other tidbits from their visit to H&M.
Associated Press: What’s your style?
Zendaya: I like to be dressed up. I’m pretty neutral, not very funky. I like neutral colors, and black and white. I need to wear more color. I could sit in the closet a long time and be very happy and think about what to wear. I have a definite interest. I study ads in fashion magazines, and I’ll cover up the labels and guess if I know the designer. I quiz myself.
Thorne: I don’t do a stylist because I like the unexpected. I will make up a whole outfit, picking the shoes first. … I also really like leather.AP: How would you describe each other’s style?
Thorne: If I were going to buy something for myself, I’d get the hot pink, and I’d get the black for Zendaya. She’s sophisticated.
Zendaya: Bella likes to mix it up. She’ll wear frilly with studs.AP: What would you like to see each other wear more of?
Zendaya: I would like to see her more casual, in jeans and some kick-back Converse.
Thorne: She never wears skirts. (She) should wear more skirts. I’d love to see her in a bubble skirt and a comic T-shirt.AP: Your biggest obsession?
Thorne: I love to shop shoes. I turned a room into my house into a closet — I made it my shoe closet.
Zendaya: I have a closet full of blazers, and I love shoes. I wear the blazers with shorts, and then I’ll try on all of my shoes.

Shake It Up has a bevy of guests lined up for the sophomore season: Marissa Jaret Winokur as a dance teacher; Ben Savage as a critical dance blogger; and The Middle’s Atticus Shaffer (Brick!) as a neighbor kid who may or may not be an alien.

Shake it up indeed! Disney has just kicked off its first national talent search called “Make Your Mark,” and the winner gets a special dance appearance on the Disney Channel’s hit series Shake It Up and a chance to meet the entire cast.
Celebuzz was there as fans filled the Americana shopping mall in Glendale, CA to see their two favorite girls, Shake It Up stars Zendaya Coleman and Bella Thorne, and of course, to dance their way to the top! The Shake It Up cast’s personal choreographer Rosero McCoy, and his dancers even came out to teach the entire crowd – yes all of them, the Shake It Up dance step-by-step. Now that’s what we call a fun time!
The girls joined Radio Disney’s DJ Ernie D on stage to answer questions for their fans! So cute! Celebuzz was able to have our own personal Q&A with Zendaya and Bella too.
They spilled what it was like filming their very first dance scene to their most embarrassing moments on set. Check it out.
Did you spot any personal favorites today?
Zendaya: I think everyone came out and did their best. Everyone’s my favorite because as long as you’re giving a 110 percent than I love you!
Bella: I think everyone was great, and everyone came out with confidence and that means a lot to me because confidence is everything. I would say is confidence is your best fashion accessory because whatever outfit it is if you have confidence, you can work.
What’s your advice to everyone who is trying out?
Zendaya: Definitely just know what you’re going to do, be confident in it, and knowing what you’re doing.
Bella: I would say besides that, definitely practice a lot and go out there and live it like it’s your last.
What was it like filming your first dance scene for Shake It Up?
Zendaya: I think we all had our butterflies, but as soon as we walk down on stage – I think the stage is my second home, and so those kind of fly away.
Bella: For me I would say I was nervous. I get nervous during everything. I’ll be dancing on a dance, and Shake It Up and I’ll be like, ‘I’m not going to get this move right,’ and Rosario, he is so great to me, and I love him so much because he does so much. He’s always like, ‘Bella you have it, you have it down, live in it; it’s your confidence.’ I think that you know obviously my confidence level drops a little, but it goes right back up when I know I’m doing well.
If Shake It Up! star, Bella Thorne gets her way, CeCe Jones — one of the most beloved characters on the Disney Channel — will be part-Cuban. “It would be really cool if she was Latin like my father, Reinaldo,” Bella, whose father was Cuban, tells us. “We don’t know who CeCe’s dad is, or where he is, so maybe you guys will find that out in a later episode,” adds the proud Latina.
Bella’s dad passed away in April, 2007 from a motorcycle accident, but the adorable 13-year-old star still has her dad very close to her heart. “He used to say I was his Latina princess,” explains Thorne. “His Cuban Princess.”
In addition to wanting her character to be Cuban, Bella says she’d also like CeCe to speak Spanish. “That would be really cool!” Bella said when asked if she’d like CeCe to speak Spanish in an episode ofShake It Up! ”I’m going to be taking Spanish in school, so I’m really excited about that because then I can get back to speaking it the way I did when I was little,” she adds. We can’t wait to hear it!

The 2011 Imagen Award Nominations are out!
The event, which honors and recognizes the positive portrayals of Latinos in the media, will be hosted next month by actress and nominee Maria Canals-Barrera.
Selena Gomez, Bella Thorne and Victoria Justice all received nominations in the Best Young Actress in Television category!
Alexa Vega also scored a nomination for Best Actress/Feature Film for From Prada To Nada.
The 2011 Imagen Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on August 12th.

Bella Thorne, the half-Cuban star of Disney’s hit series Shake It Up! is only 13, but the adorable actress already has a few Hollywood crushes. “I have teen stars who I think are adorable,” Bella told Latina.com when asked who she’s crushing on.
“I have a crush on Ian Somerhalder because he plays a cool bad boy vampire and has AMAZING eyes!” she said of The Vampire Diaries star.
Obviously at 32, Bella knows Ian is waaay too old for her, but she’s also got a crush on someone much closer to her age, 16-year-old Puerto Rican and Spanish Wizards of Waverly Place alum, Jake T. Austin. “I do think Jake is adorable,” Bella adds.

In “Model It Up,” Rocky (Zendaya) is offered a modeling contract in New York, but is hesitant to leave her friends and family behind. CeCe (Bella Thorne), Ty (Roshon Fegan), Deuce (Adam Irigoyen), and Flynn (Davis Cleveland) try to be supportive by pretending they don’t care, so she will go and have an unforgettable experience!

Shake It Up! star Bella Thorne is only 13 years old, but the part-Cuban actress is already planning her quinceañera. “I know what a quinceañera is and I’m really excited,” the sweet and bubbly Bella tells Latina.com. “I’m going to have one, hopefully instead of a Sweet 16. I asked my mom and she was like ‘Yay!’”
Asked why she’s choosing to have a quinceañera instead of a Sweet 16, Bella says it’s because she wants everyone to know she’s Latina. “I just want to represent my Latin heritage,” she says. “A quinceañera would be a way for all of my friends to really, really know that I’m Latin.”
Bella says the quinceañera would be as much for her dad, Delancey, who died in a car crash a few years ago, as it is for her. “It’s in honor of my dad,” she says. “He always wanted me to have a quinceañera.”
Bella tells us she also knows exactly what kind of dress she wants to wear on her big day. “A big one!” she says with a laugh. “It’s got to be big because I’m a big personality kind of girl! It’s got to be flashy!”
